Variable from database query - to show in the website header (Laravel)

I'm stuck in a project where I need some help to learn how to share a value from a database query, into a variable that is echoed into the website header.

I have a query in the UserController that works well in the logged in members account-page. But I want the value from the query to show up in the header, on all pages - not just the member's account page.

I also want it to be done in a way that is not slowing down the website (I want it to be done in the best way possible).

I need you to be very experienced with laravel and the best practices (and safe ways to do things). I want you to be good at explaining things so I can learn.
