Project 'vacations'
Objective: Create an online vacation request platform for a workforce
Features:
In a company of 870 workers we created 13 groups called 'specialties' each group contains a series of workers, who can only be part of a single group called TEMPLATE 2019 IN THE TABLE
Within each specialty there will be 3 subgroups called 'turn1' 'turn2' and 'turn3'. In this case, distribute the workers of each specialty equally in each subgroup.
Important: Each year automatically the shifts of each subgroup vary as follows:
First year
turn 1 turn 2 and turn 3
Second year
turn 1 becomes turn 2
turn 2 becomes turn 3
and turn 3 becomes turn 1
Third year
The one that last year was turn 2 is now turn 3
The one that last year was turn 3 is now turn 1
and the one that last year was turn 1 is now turn 2
Fourth year
we return to the formula of the first year for both cycles of 3 years
Calendar:
For this 2019 the calendar of weeks is this
Weeks 16.17, from 25 to 37, 52, 53 and January 6, 2020
Each year of the next will be a very approximate calendar, the formula is always:
The two weeks of Holy Week, the full week that contains June 22 until the full week that contains September 15, the two weeks that include Christmas and the end of the year and the week of the following year that contains January 6.
In addition the rest of the weeks of the year are also available for workers to choose if they want a vacation but there is no CUPO is unlimited.
How many workers can leave each week?
ORDINARY VACATIONS
ON THE 2019 TABLE
The formula to calculate it is
(template by specialty * 30) / (18 weeks * 7 days)
EXTRAORDINARY HOLIDAYS
ON THE EXTRA CUPO TABLE
The same formula above and the result divided by 4
Rounding formulas
If decimals are equal to or greater than 5, it is rounded up
Less than 5 rounding down
How many weeks can each worker go on vacation?
Each worker is entitled to 5 weeks of vacation.
In addition, you may voluntarily request, according to the EXTRA QUOTAS, 2 more weeks within the calendar if you wish.
Holiday application process
Day 1 (to be determined)
Template data, subgroups and quota table are published
Day 8 (one week after date 1)
Start 24 hours so that the workers of shift 1 of each specialty select the first 2 weeks they would like.
NOTE: If there are more workers who request a specific week that the AVAILABLE quota closes the process, a surplus is notified and there are 24 hours of margin for real-time and visual changes.
Day 9
After 24 hours, it is published how the quotas are left, that is, how much space remains.
NOTE: If there are more workers who request a specific week that the AVAILABLE quota closes the process, a surplus is notified and there are 24 hours of margin for real-time and visual changes.
Day 10
After 24 hours, workers on shift 2 select 2 weeks.
Once finalized, the remaining quota is re-published so that workers on shift 3 can reflect on which week they will choose.
NOTE: If there are more workers who request a specific week that the AVAILABLE quota closes the process, a surplus is notified and there are 24 hours of margin for real-time and visual changes.
Day 11
After 24 hours shift 3 choose a week
NOTE: If there are more workers who request a specific week that the AVAILABLE quota closes the process, a surplus is notified and there are 24 hours of margin for real-time and visual changes.
The first round is closed
Day 13
The second round begins, the same process with the following changes
turn 1 choose 2 weeks then turn 2 choose another 2 and turn 3 choose 3 weeks.
NOTE: If there are more workers who request a specific week that the AVAILABLE quota closes the process, a surplus is notified and there are 24 hours of margin for real-time and visual changes.
Day 16 Now the 5 week is chosen
The quotas that are still free are published for 24 hours
3 days in a row one day for each subgroup. 24 hours each subgroup.
NOTE: If there are more workers who request a specific week that the AVAILABLE quota closes the process, a surplus is notified and there are 24 hours of margin for real-time and visual changes.
Final publication of the results
Day 24 Repeat the same process again, with two extra weeks per worker with the EXTRAS spaces that are lower.
