Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 6 months
General information for the business: We make it easy for anyone to interact with images that feature products that she wants
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of requirements/functionality: We are looking for technically capable Node.js developers with strong communication skills who are interested and experienced in extensible server-side software architecture.
The product is a service that transforms magazines in proprietary layout formats from large publishers into HTML5 to be displayed on mobile devices. The front-end portion of the product that displays the HTML5 has been completed. We are looking for developers who would work closely with our in-house team to create an asynchronous backend system that would automate the conversion process.
The service transforms an XML-based manifest file with associated asset files into an HTML-based equivalent. The template in HTML/CSS/JS (i.e. the “front-end”) has been created and tested as a demo to our clients. The missing part is to programmatically transform the XML and asset files into JSON and relevant files for the front-end to display on screen.
Note: This product is not a one-time migration service as publishers will continue to produce non-HTML5 magazines to be converted into the HTML5 equivalent.
Contract comes with an option on both sides to continue as a permanent position. Developers with open-source experience preferred.

Specific technologies required: node.js, javascript
