Microsoft Lync Engineer

About the Opportunity

Looking for an experienced Microsoft Lync engineer for an engagement with one of our larger clients. The role involves engineering support for an existing Lync 2010 environment, including all features of Lync (chat, audio and video conferencing, instant messaging). The person chosen for this role will be a member of the client’s existing collaboration tools support area and will participate in project work as it becomes available during the year. This opportunity is planned for twelve to sixteen months in duration.
Responsibilities:

· Provide technical and engineering support for a production implementation of Microsoft Lync 2010.
· Advise the client in efforts to implement additional functionality, streamline support requirements, and reduce the overall cost of managing Lync and similar technologies.
· Provide support for Lync as part of the client’s implementation of virtual computing initiatives.
· Create documentation and training materials to support the client’s planned expansion of both features and product adoption.
Required Skills:
---------------------
· Background and experience supporting Microsoft Lync 2010 or 2013 is required. Especially helpful will be background implementing product features beyond presence and instant messaging in a large-scale environment.
· Experience with Edge Server and configuration related to Lync is critical.
· The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Effective communication skills are required, both oral and written.
· Experience implementing or supporting Lync with thin clients and virtual clients is desired.
· A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or in a related field is preferred.
· Proficiency with a relevant scripting language like PowerShell or PHP will be helpful.
