Setup Amazon S3 as Backup

We need someone to help setup Amazon S3 for automated backup on Ubuntu server. He is expected to document and demonstrate the entire setup procedure on at a test VPS server. Our engineer will be the one to finalize the setup on the production server.

Currently, we use cron and rsync to remotely copy backup files to another server; however, the space is quickly being used up. Ideally, Amazon s3 can be mounted as a virtual drive so that we can continue to use cron to backup the file into the virtual drive. We are open to suggestions and best practice.
