About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior MERN Stack Engineer to join our team on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js, with a proven track record of building scalable, high-performance web applications. You will work closely with product managers and designers to develop robust solutions and maintain code quality across multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Implement security and data protection measures.
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior MERN Stack Engineer or similar role.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, React.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Must be based in the United States.
Preferred:
Experience with TypeScript.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Understanding of agile development methodologies.
