Send email from powershell script

Description of requirements/functionality: Hi there,

We have a script which is only about 40 lines long. It runs on a scheduler ever hour and looks in a folder, if it finds files in a certain name format it will rename them and then send an email with the file names. This used to work with our in house exchange server, but since moving off that we cant get it working as the script never used a username and password credentials.

We have a SMTP address which I have tested with and that works but i just need help to add the email send part into this original script. its a .ps1 file and should take a max of an hour to get this setup and tested.
