Python project | Communicating two devices

Hi,
the goal is clear, I want to establish a secure communication between two distants devices.
I have a vps exposed with a public ip and I want to receive message on it to execute specific action depending to the content of message.
I need two .py files:
(client) one emitting message to a second through a specific port and the second (server) looping in continuous ready to listen. If it's possible to establish two way communication or just receive a message in return (if message is well received by server).
Ask questions if necessary.
