Proof of concept game in PHP HTML with Calculations in MS Excel

Summary: to create a proof of concept "game" with html interface and calculations in excel.

input: Simple excel with input and outputs to be converted
output: a HTML PHP + excel based game. MySQL can be used, but preferably all data is saved in excel.
userinterface: User chooses policies for 5 rounds in html form.

calculation: PHP puts data in excel and calculates output using excel.
visual output: PHP reads output from excel and displays output graphs.

This is a proof of concept, so it more important HOW you do it than to just make it work.

no style requirements.

own ftp server to be used an later php files should be handed over.

We are not interested in using this as a commercial product. Everything is bogus anyways.

We are however interested in letting the Excel 'do' the calculations. So not to recreate the formulas in php, but really put the data in excel, let excel calculate, get data from excel.

This is because we are really good at making excel sheets and game-logic in excel and it's too time-intensive to try translate our complex calculations into php.

We are open for other ideas that would make our goal simpler to attain. We have bought office365 sharepoint from MS with web apps if that can be used, would be great.
