PPH080 – A VBA program to automate Google searches
We require an Excel VBA program that enables one to specify one or more Google searches. Each “search” will have the following properties:
• The search text
• The country
• From date
• To date
The attached workbook, PPH080_002.xls has one worksheet, “Searches” with a single command button, Search. This worksheet lists a number of “Search string” for testing purposes. On each occasion the Search button is pressed, searches are initiated and results posted to the “Results” column on the “Searches” worksheet. Search string may contain multiple items separated by semi-colons.
Searches” sheet together with date of execution which is written in the done field.
Once the system is working, we will take out a subscription to Google’s Site Search.
If you do a search on: “Automating Google site searches with VBA”, you will see many examples of VBA programs to do this.
You should write the code in the attached workbook and return it with Results and Done entered after pressing the Search button. I will test it by adding some search strings.
This is less than half a day’s work for a competent VBA programmer.
If you are experienced in doing Google searches, please say so. Also I would appreciate any suggestion for a further more comprehensive solution as a separate project.
