Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: The website provides tutorials to the animation community. There will also be posts and partial content that only premium members can access.
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: I'm using the fusion builder packaged as part of the popular Avada Wordpress theme. If you are not familiar with it, it's basically a drag and drop builder which allows you to create nice looking pages with little html knowledge. This is how the fusion builder looks (attachment_01) which seems to work by outputting a bunch of shortcodes as seen when in the default wordpress editor mode (attachment_02)
Additionally, I have installed the 'Groups' plugin which enables me to hide/show partial content from/to users of a specific group. You do this by wrapping content in a shortcode. Ultimately, I'll be hiding content from non members and showing other content to premium members. Therefore I want to use these particular shortcodes associated with the Groups plugin:
[groups_member group="Premium Membership"]CONTENT VISIBLE TO PREMIUM MEMBERS ONLY[/groups_member]
[groups_non_member group="Premium Membership"]CONTENT VISIBLE TO NON PREMIUM MEMBERS[/groups_non_member]
Here's my problem:
When working in the default editor mode in Wordpress, I wrap the relevant fusion builder shortcodes inside the Group shortcodes as above and everything works as expected. However, when I switch to the visual Fusion Builder mode (which is 99% of the time) the Fusion Builder seems to strip out the Groups shortcodes as well as the fusion builder shortcodes which they enclosed. This isn't good I (and other non tech people) need the ease of working in the visual mode.
So what I am hoping you can help me with is to create a custom fusion builder element which enables me to simply type the Group shortcode that I need and which is recognised as part of fusion builder so it doesn't strip it out.
The Fusion builder text element almost gives me what I want except it renders the text I type in the default editor as: [fusion_text]...[/fusion_text]. I've tried simply typing the appropriate Group shortcodes in the fusion text element but it doesn't work as expected.
Hopefully, attachment_3.jpg will give a clear representation of the desired functionality.

Hi Richard,
Have you tried instead putting the shortcodes into text blocks on the Fusion Editor?
Thanks.
