Online Comic Wordpress Setup

Hi there,
after many hours struggling with wordpress (let's face it, web stuff is not my area) and trying to get it to work with comicpress, I've given up and hope someone can help.

Basically, what I'm interested in is getting a webcomic up that has

-Comic with navigation,
-Archives with thumbnails of images
-About section and others that I can edit.

And I need it to be fairly easy for me to post a new comic and have the archives update.
I was looking at some fairly basic minimalist designs, and possibly implementing the comicpress plugin. I tried to do this myself, but nothing has worked and there's some pretty bad documentation on it!

These are some designs that appealed to me (or even just using the very basic black and white comicpress template to start is fine with me.)

Anyway, obviously super clean and minimalist, with black and white, the comic in the center and navigation below, with nothing in the side bars but allowing there to be in the future (such as adwords, archive drop downs etc.)

1. The Comic (Main page with comic/navigation)
2. Archives (with thumbnails)
3. Characters
4. News (Blogroll here)
5. About the Author
6. Extras
7. Shop (blank for now, as shop is going to be external)
8. Links

If you could give me a quote on how long you think it will take to get a super-simple site up and running, that would be fantastic.
