For comparison, here is a follow-up video I had posted barely two weeks later, which still has its 1080p option:

According to others, this had likely resulted from a bug of some sort. I would assume that YouTube keeps backups of its data for in case of data loss that affects users en masse. Hopefully, the missing 1080p option is something that had simply slipped through the cracks during the original recovery, and would still be retrievable by anyone with access to YouTube's data.
2) A new video I recently uploaded, which I now have set to Unlisted, does not have its thumbnail displayed in search results whenever I type anything other than its full title (I found this out by typing "brunette girls appeal), and I can only wonder how many people it originally appeared to on the front page with that wrong image. It would instead show a random still, even when I try applying a different thumbnail. I have tried viewing it incognito, which would rule out cookies and extensions. However, even uploading a revised version, with the first half-minute trimmed, defaults to the exact same frame, which still shows up when I set that version to Public.
Here is a video summarizing the issue:

Please let me know when you are ready to sort that issue out. I would like to have the wrong thumbnail available to display for as briefly as possible.

Hey Eric, Before starting, I’d like to clarify a few points to ensure I can address your YouTube video issues effectively: for the first video, do you want me to focus on restoring the original 1080p playback option, or also check if similar issues might affect other videos on your channel? Regarding the second video, should I investigate why the thumbnail isn’t displaying correctly in search results and provide a solution that ensures it shows properly across all search queries, or also include steps to prevent similar thumbnail issues in the future? Additionally, do you have any channel or video restrictions/settings that I should be aware of before making changes? For reference, you can see an example of my video troubleshooting and media integration work here: https://v0-modern-portfolio-website-gilt-nu.vercel.app/
, which highlights my experience diagnosing and fixing playback and display issues on video platforms.
