Description
Experience Level: Entry
I have roughed in two Dialog based applications using Visual Studio 2022:
* SharedMem (after launch generates some data that should be written to Shared Memory)
* SharedMemRead (after its launch reads the data from the data written above)
I need someone to supply the code that writes to and reads from the Shared Memory. These two functions
are place in the "todo" sections of their respective OnInitDialog() functions.
I assume I can ship the two projects as is to the developer. Thinking this should take no more than an hour if
the developer is familiar with Shared Memory - two hours if he has to research. I found https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/memory/creating-named-shared-memory unintelligible.
SharedMem TODO code:
// TODO: Add extra initialization here
class rec0* prec0;
prec0 = new rec0[2];
class rec1* prec1;
prec1 = new rec1[3];
(prec0 + 0)->char0 = 'U';
(prec0 + 1)->char0 = 'V';
// write the above to shared memory with known name 0
// assume the SharedMemRead app knows this name
(prec1 + 0)->char0 = 'x';
(prec1 + 0)->char1 = 'X';
(prec1 + 1)->char0 = 'y';
(prec1 + 1)->char1 = 'Y';
(prec1 + 2)->char0 = 'z';
(prec1 + 2)->char1 = 'Z';
// write the above to shared memory with known name 1
// assume the SharedMemRead app knows this name
SharedMemRead TODO code:
// TODO: Add extra initialization here
// read the two record sets from the SharedMem app into memory
