Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
I currently have 3 servers hosting 250+ websites, 1 of the servers is a managed VPS but the other 2 are AWS EC2 instances meaning I do not have any support and am on my own if any issues occur.
Recently, one of these 2 instances has been having a repeatedly high server load, DDOS attempt on 1 particular website out of many hosted on it, and considering both instances are t3.xlarge (4x CPU, 16gb memory) I would expect them to be more than capable of handling the traffic that they get.
I would like a WHM/Apache expert to go through the configuration of the server to check all is OK, made suggestions on how to improve performance, and offer advice on how I can monitor these better going forward. I have modsecurity and Configserver Firewall installed as well as mod_dumpio to monitor input and output for the POST requests (from the DDOS attempt) but I simpy don't know how to analyse the log.
There is also an opportunity for further work in the future, when I require further instances to be set up with a WHM image and same configuration as current ones etc..
