Javascript help

I have a mobile web app that uses several javascript search functions bunged together really inefficiently.
I need someone to do a bit of tidying up and make sure things are working the way they are supposed to be.
I have one script in particular that I'm stuck with which I think is around asynchronous calling, but don't have time to deal with it.
