JavaScript fix on webpage

We have a client's site page with a long piece (although not complex) of JavaScript, which has stopped working since we entered into 2011.

The purpose of the script is to compare today's date and if it matches with one of the pre-defined religious calendar events, show a message and change the background colour.

The script has successfully worked since April 2010 - so my guess is that it it's something to do with the year change.

I am posting this on PPH, as my own JavaScript guru is on holiday until 10th January and I need it fixed before that.

I need someone to look at the code and change whatever is not working.

We do not want this page redesigned, or any form of CMS proposed - just the above issue gone...
