    There are two approach by which you can optimize the site performance and its speed either could be memcache or with redis.

    Also,if you have heavy traffic on website there should be load balancer which can manage concurrent request either way mysql query should also been optimise to acheive this cluster machanism should be more appropriate on the other hand stored procedures should also been in mysql.which can be used to increase the performance of the application.
