Description
Experience Level: Entry
Excel Automation from MFC VC++
Objective: to develop a Visual Studio MFC C++ Dialog based app that
1. Will compile under Visual Studio 2019 and create an Excel Object Model in the app that will references
2. Excel in MS Office Professional Plus 2019
The following link might be helpful but it does not compile under my VS2019: https://www.technical-recipes.com/2012/how-to-interface-with-excel-in-c/. By creating the Excel Object Model I mean something identical or similar to the line of code from the above article:
3. Excel::_ApplicationPtr pXL;
The project will be complete once the app compiles and I can successfully use the following line of code to pen an xls file on my computer:
4. pXL->Workbooks->Open( L"C:\\test\\test.xls" );
Please do not waste your time or my time suggesting solutions such as
5. Using C#
6. Using VB
7. Using managed c++
8. Using other versions of VS or Excel
9. Using something other than MFC
This is simply a project to get a two line application to compile and run.
