Hi, is it a mandatory requirement that the formula cannot be decoded by an expert in JavaScript from the source code? We can put things in different frames and have the scripts in different JS files to mix things up but I don't think the formula can be completely hidden from an expert. Please clarify.
Thanks,
Partha Sarathi BhowmickMarius A.16 Sep 2020Hi Partha,
Thank you for your question. Yes, it is mandatory. I am sure you understand that, in a very competitive situation, we don't want the main price formula and the price variables be open for inspection.
Based on the response on the project, I am recommended to use PHP/Ajax. I have only two concerns, hiding variables/formula to front-end and that visitor don’t need to wait for page to refresh or clicking on a submit button.
I was hoping it could be solved by Javascript because of the easiness of adding it to our website. If using PHP it’s a bit more complicated (at least for me), because the PHP must be develop as a snippet inside our CMS system, which is Modx CMS (https://modx.com/) .
Hope I answered your question.

Partha Sarathi B.16 Sep 2020Hi Marius, thanks for your detailed reply! Will obfuscated JavaScript code work? It would not be impossible but would be very difficult to decipher the formulas from obfuscated code. If yes then I would be able to help you without using PHP.
Best regards,
Partha Sarathi
