CHALLENGE! Using Google's UrlFetchApp - Adwords to Affjet.com XML Parsing

General information for the business: Running Adwords Script (Javascript) to parse XML from SOAP API
Description of requirements/functionality: We use Affjet.com to collate all our affiliate network sales data - It should be possible to connect to this SOAP API via the UrlFetchApp method in Google Apps API (Scripts run in Adwords fyi) to pull merchant name, Sales and Commission values...

I'm looking for someone who's done this before that can build work on my barebones script that'll request / parse the response for the data I want and and run me through how it all works so I have an idea of how to implement it elsewhere. It's my first time touching this more obscure request.
