We have 13 Google Apps for Business users email to archive, only one with any volume of mail, as an append to Thunderbird on our EC2 domain. This can be done either from Backupify or Google Apps itself dependent on your preference.
We then require Thunderbird to be deduped as a number of the old emails are on there twice.
Finally we require mail to be removed from the one almost full (24.6Gb in use) Google Apps mailbox to get it down below 10Gb. No action on Google Apps is required with the other users.
