AI Discord Bot Developer (LLM, RAG & Web Dashboard)
Project Overview
We are looking for an experienced developer to build a highly customized, AI-driven Discord bot. This is not a standard moderation bot; it is an intelligent assistant that utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) to answer user questions based on community knowledge. The bot requires a web-based control panel for configuration and must be capable of mimicking a specific personality (witty, direct, Scottish tone).
Key Features to Develop
1. The AI Bot (Core Logic)
• Personality Engine: The bot must utilize a system prompt to strictly adhere to a specific persona: Direct, witty, funny, and possessing a Scottish tone/slang.
• Role-Based Responses: The bot should only auto-respond to users with specific Discord roles (configurable).
• Contextual Awareness: The bot must maintain conversation history within a thread or channel to provide coherent replies.
2. Knowledge Retrieval (RAG - Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• Channel Scanning: The bot must "read" and index specific channels (defined in the panel) to use as its knowledge base.
• Admin Learning Loop: The bot needs a mechanism to learn from Admin interactions. If an Admin replies to a user, the bot should index that answer to answer similar questions in the future automatically.
3. Web Control Panel (Dashboard)
• A secure, web-based dashboard (likely authenticated via Discord OAuth2).
• Configuration Options:
• Toggle AI on/off.
• Select which channels the bot should "scan/read" for knowledge.
• Select which roles trigger the bot's response.
• Adjust personality settings or system prompts.
Technical Requirements
• Discord API: Deep understanding of discord.py (Python) or discord.js (Node.js).
• AI & LLMs: Experience with OpenAI API (GPT-4/4o) or Anthropic (Claude).
• Vector Databases: Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) using technologies like Pinecone, ChromaDB, Milvus, or Supabase Vector. This is crucial for the "scanning channels" and "learning from admins" feature.
• Web Development: Frontend skills (React, Next.js, or simple HTML/Tailwind) to build the control panel.
• Prompt Engineering: Ability to craft complex system prompts to ensure the bot maintains the specific "Scottish/Witty" character without breaking character.
Will need this bot added to my VPS so it runs 24/7 so will need you add the bot here also.
