Description
Experience Level: Expert
Need a activity tracking application to do these:
1- offline- No login with email account or phone number (maybe later in another project)
2- whatever user does while in desktop, using chrome or IExplorer, or others, or when writing in a word file, or when opeing a pdf file, record the time and date. (keep in mind that other tabs might be open but are not active)
or like opening a pdf file.
for example, if user spend 10 minutes checking emails, record
12/23/2018 9am to 9:10am mail.gmail.com (or address of the gmail tab)
if user spend 15 minutes on youtube, it records 15 minutes on youtube, in next row:
12/23/2018 9:10am to 9:25am youtube.com and so on
if user spend 30 minutes writing in microsoftword.docx, it adds
12:23/2018 9:25am to 9:55am microsoftword.docx
It can have a timer that when user opened a word file but don't type anything for 5 minutes, it should stop the timer. and when user resume typing again, it should start the time again.
It can track activities by tracking mouse and keyboard activities to detect what process is active.
it can make log reports of these activities in excel tables. processes can be word file, pdf, paint, visio, or any tab in browser.
like few tabs are open but one is active, (for example youtube.com) it should record the time that this tab is active. or if a pdf file is open, behind the web browser, the app should not capture it, but when the user moves mouse to pdf file, like after 5 minutes, it means user have moved from youtube to reading the pdf file and it should stop the time for youtube.com and start the time for the pdf file.
Same for working on a word file with bunch of other apps open like pdf, or web browser, ....
the app should detect if the user is active on a open process. like if the 123.docx is open but user hasn't typed anything for 5 minutes, it should stop the time for that app. like when the user is going away from his desk, but didn't close the 123.docx file. for when the user stops working on 123.docx for 5 minutes, it can record it as inactive time. I think that makes it easier.
it should generate a report log to view every time user go to view log file and in excel file to download.
the purpose of this app is to keep track of accurate billing hours. it's important to keep track of billing hours for freelancers.
step recorder windows app does this job and records every click and action but I need a summary of these events.
there are some automatic time tracking softwares like desktime, timely, timecamp. but they take a lot of memory and not for individual user.
