Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
The app (I suppose on Ethereum but not necessarily) should allow transaction record, traceability, monitoring, tracking, performance record etc.
The transactions don’t involve money (crypto or other)
The blocks should record the transfer of goods (materials in different stages of production) between suppliers as well as other information like performance and deadlines.
This is a brief description of my process and the solution I need to create:
* My supply chain changes depending on different factors on each order
* I use a large pool of global suppliers and one of them is assigned a number (in this example 001, 002, 003, …)
* Each step of my supply chain has several vendor options and for each order I will choose one of these vendors according to specs
My initial vendor matrix for a new product would look like this:
STEP A: available vendors: 001, 002, 003, 004, 005
STEP B: available vendors: 006, 007, 008, 009, 010
STEP C: available vendors: 011, 012, 013, 014, 015
STEP D: available vendors: 016, 017, 018, 019, 020
STEP E: available vendors: 021, 022, 023, 024, 025
From this matrix I choose one vendor per step:
STEP A: available vendors: 003,
STEP B: available vendors: 006,
STEP C: available vendors: 014,
STEP D: available vendors: 017,
STEP E: available vendors: 024,
Which generates a sequence for each order.
A003-B006-C014-D017-E024
This sequence is the backbone of the supply chain for a specific order.
For my industry, transparency, and traceability are critical and this sequence should be followed strictly by all the vendors. For example, Vendor in STEP C should not use another vendor for STEP B, which is relatively easy to do right now as they work in an opaque way and they often try to cut corners. That's why transaction records are important here.
The app should allow the following:
A) Create a Vendor ID (and a profile that will contain vendor information about category, location, performance, and transactions)
B) The app should allow me to create the supply sequence and create a blockchain record
C) Based on the sequence a series of smart contracts would be created (between A003 and B006, then between B006 and C014, then between D017 and E024 etc) detailing goods to be exchanged specs, standards, and delivery dates.
C) The app should allow creating transaction records between the vendors. (The transaction would only be recorded as an exchange of goods and no money would be involved. So in a basic way, it would record Vendor 006 delivering goods to 014 and 014 acknowledging the receipt)
D) Physical tracking (using RFIDs or QR codes) and track recording should also be possible
I am obviously not an expert on the field so I’m open to suggestions.
