Description
Experience Level: Expert
We have an existing web based application that we wish to re-write as it is now 5 years old and needs stripping down and re-engineering to improve the performance, efficiency and ease the process of enhancement in the future.
We are a development house based in the UK, we wish to adopt Silverlight technology within thsi project, something we have little exposure to. We wish for the user interface to be professionally designed to deliver a modern, slick, dynamic and professional look and feel. The existing interface is simple but it works. We want the new UI to \'wow\' our client base.
We have already sourced a firm to re-write the application in C# and .NET Framework 3.5. What we are seeking is a professional designer to evaluate five existing web pages from the existing application and along with a concept idea we have compiled, we expect to receive 5 new designs based upon our requirements.
We will be taking the template of the new design and then rolling this out across the remainder of the application.
The proposal must:
* Consist of five web pages
* The designs must be simple to use, they must contain all of the basic information that is present on the existing pages.
* Efficiency and performance of the designs must be considered, the application is for use both over a LAN and the internet.
* We wish to utilise Silverlight technology fully within the new application. We wish for you to suggest controls, either existing or new, that we should use to achieve our aim for each page.
* You must detail which controls you are suggesting we use to achieve your design proposal.
* A big advantage will be if you can deliver the XAML for the developers to then link in with. However this is not essential.
The winning proposal must be able to commence work immediately. Once each page has been completed we will require a release to a.) provide constructive feedback, b.) once approved pass through to the development team to work with.
During the core development there may be further consultancy that is required with the developement team. This will run up until April 2011 - we appreciate this will be chargeable on an hourly basis if required.
We would like to know your related previous experience with details about the nature of the project would be useful also.
The application in question is a sensitive project and we will be looking for compliance and agreement with a Non-disclosure agreement before we take communications further.
I welcome further questions and aim to close this opportunity by end of business 10th December 2010.
