Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: Simple Project Management Tool
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of requirements/functionality: Product Name: ProjectBarker
Looking for a very simple web based project management tool. This will need to be hosted on a third party system (AWS, Rackspace, etc) so I will need very exact instructions on how to install it. The goal will be to use a cheaper hosting provider in the beginning.
At this point, it is only for our internal use but I would like to expand it and create it into an actual viable tool for project management. My inspirations for this are tools like Wrike and Basecamp. These are great tools but I am looking for something a bit different that these cannot hit.
Project Tool
Phase 1:
- Users must be able to be administered through a security console.
- Users at this point are either "Administrators" or "Collaborators"
- Collaborators can do everything EXCEPT administer users.
- Administrators can do everything INCLUDING administer users.
- An Administer belongs to an account.
- Each account will have:
*Folders
*Projects
A folder can have additional "sub" folders and/or projects.
A Project has the following elements that a user can edit:
*ID
*Title
*Description
*Start Dates
*End Dates
*% Complete
*Estimate
*Actual
*Comments (this is diary based. should have multiple)
*Tags
Dashboard:
Add New Folder (Support multiple levels of folders nested within themselves)
Add New Project
Project ID | Title | Start Date | End Date | % Complete | Estimate | Actual | Tags
Open a project and see:
*ID | *Title | *% Complete
*Tags
*Description
*Start Dates | *End Dates
*Estimate | *Actual
*Comments (this is diary based. should have multiple)
I would like to see some mock ups of screens before we get started based on your technology of choice and make sure we have a good understanding of the different screens.
Future Considerations of the tool after the first phase COULD include:
Tasks
Milestones
Bugs
Enhancements (mini projects)
To-dos ??
Estimates
