Outlook Appointment Counter

I have a requirement to be able to count all of the appointments in an Outlook calendar between 2 set dates. This needs to accurately include recurring appointments. There should be a user friendly front end. The end user may have access to several managers calendars, and the application need to take accounts of producing results from each individual one ie not a total count of all calendars to which the user has access.
