IOS developer for Bluetooth Low Energy hardware project

General information for the app: The app connects to a piece of hardware via Bluetooth LE. It controls a variable on the machine and displays machine info like its current temperature.

Description of requirements/features: App connects to hardware via Bluetooth LE and sends/receives character strings back and forth. The messages sent to the machine alter a machine variable. The messages received are used to update the current machine info on the app.

Extra notes: Need an enthusiastic, flexible and highly skilled iOS developer who's experienced in working with Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (AKA Bluetooth Smart) to help create a controller app for a piece of hardware.

We require a native app building, based on Apple guidelines (and sample code!?) here: https://developer.apple.com/bluetooth/. Functionality is simple, requires transmitting/receiving character strings which work as commands to change a variable on the machine (only one variable in this first stage of development, more to be added later). UI designs will be supplied, very simple - you can use stock UI widgets and other elements for most of it. Please feel free to advise on better ways of doing things, meeting HIG requirements, etc. We like proactive devs! iPhone only in the first instance, may optimise for iPad later though. You will not have to do anything with the hardware side of things: the client has an in-house engineer dedicated to that job. Timescale one month approx.

Will supply further details and wireframes once an NDA has been signed. UK based developers preferred - we expect this to be a long-term project, this first stage is mainly 'proof-of-concept', but there are many options/routes for further work on the project.

Client is an established hardware manufacturer, and actually the last of its kind in the UK. They export their machines around the world and will be looking to launch this app and associated hardware at a major international trade show in Germany this March.
