Help with an ionic angular project

I have an ionic 4 app built with angular. I'm looking for someone to help me out and answer a few questions, specifically regarding routing and setting up root pages. The app works fine, but some of the code doesn't make sense to me.

i'm not looking for someone to change any code, just take a look at the code and answer a few questions i have so i can make some decisions on what needs to change
