Excel Application Development

Hi, working on a project for a small company.

They need to do some error reporting on their production line and we have developed a basic example of some software but it needs developing, please see the attachment.


The development that is needed is as follows:

Up to 50 input dates - the data will be input daily, shiftly or monthly so needs to be dynamic + relatively flexible.

Chart a graph in Pareto format (ordered by value - highest to lowest)

The chart needs to show the data by input date (week 1, or week 2, or week 3 or a summary of the entire data range etc)

Show trend in the chart

Be able to select a particular problem and chart the error for that problem over input time (to show if that particular problem has increased or decreased) this can be on a separate chart.


the ability to convert values into real term values i.e. money, time etc. E.g. the cutting blade failed 4 times in 1 month. this = £15 per failure = £60 in total costs. Or, = 2 hours to repair = 8 total hours to repair.

Display an ok message which disappears after a few seconds when a problem occurrence has been entered into the software


Hope all that makes sense. The attachment is pretty basic but imagine a laptop with the software running and an operator pressing the button for whatever the problem is when it occurs.
