We are looking for a web application to manage our URL list. The list feeds URLs into an two internal systems. An old system called Teleport and a recent in-house developed system called OLS. We don't have the man hours to develop this ourselves and are looking for someone with specific skills to develop the application from the ground up. Our current URL list is attached to this posting. This should give you an idea of the information we want for each URL. Sometimes maintenance is required on the URLs - for example the address might change, the robot (internal logic for handling the URL in OLS) might need updating - we want to store and be able to view this historical log for each URL.
The source code will belong to us and be housed on an internal server once in production. Any test servers will be external - we can pay for a hosting service when needed (outside of any fees agreed for project).
Requirements:
1) Backend must be MySQL
2) Front-end must be developed in Java using Struts2 (and Hibernate/Spring preferably). This is our choice of development languages/frameworks and we want to be able to maintain once project completed. Application will be run in Oracle IPlanet web server.
3) Web interface must look clean and simple. No fancy graphics necessary. We have an icons graphics package that be used.
Deadline:
December 31st 2011.
Deliverables (as I see it - can be negotiated):
1) Database design - ERD diagram
2) Interface design - diagrams to show colour choices, layout etc, detail client-side frameworks that will be used (e.g. JQuery/YUI). Any changes to be agreed before implementation.
3) Page 1 - grid displaying all URLs. Ability to filter on country, new schedule. Ability to sort - country, robot name, new schedule.
4) Page 2 - URL detail - fields can be updated. Shows historical maintenance (like comments displayed on a blog for example).
5) Ability to delete from detail page - but no actual deleting from database. Just hide from view. I want ability to view/restore deleted URLs.
That's about it. This could lead to other projects so we are looking for someone with a good portfolio who can hit the ground running and has excellent communication skills (in English).
Any questions please ask.
