[ Please note that the attached documents, or the following text may reference another screen-capture movie file. I was not able to attach this due to the upload file size limit here. You should still be able to get an idea of the feasibility of this project, and I can hopefully send it to you later. ]
The goal of this project is to create a framework using modern web technologies that may be used by developers to structure the layout and navigation between their site\'s content, and also to skin their sites.
You will require a very strong background in modern web standards for developing elegant and responsive user interfaces.
The framework must not be implemented \'from the ground up,\' and must make extensive use of available frameworks wherever possible. You should make suggestions for appropriate frameworks with your bid. Suggested frameworks should be freely available, compatible with a range of current web browsers, and require as little work possible to get this framework built.
I am not extremely familiar with the capabilities of these modern frameworks, so you should give indications of how much needs to be done to get the required features to work.
################################################################################
This framework should provide a configurable way for web developers to present the content of their sites. To do this, it will provide a collection of \'containers\' that developers may embed the content of their sites in.
These containers may be arranged in a hierarchy, and the navigation through this hierarchy will be achieved by manipulating these containers and interacting with the content contained in them.
This is difficult to describe without images, so please refer to the attached archive, which contains a PDF presenting how the interface should work in greater detail, \"Container Design.pdf.\"
################################################################################
Deliverables
- A framework that extends current web standards, that allows designers using it to create web sites using containers with the features specified in the container design requirements document.
- The framework should minimise the expertise required by the designer to create attractive and usable sites that take advantage of its features.
- A straightforward example site (or sites) to demonstrate the features of the provided interface.
I will provide guidelines for the example(s) if and when you can tell me that the project is feasible to implement with modern technologies within a respectable cost.
