Description
Experience Level: Entry
We build training and evaluation environments for AI models, and one of them is Unreal Engine. We need experienced UE5 developers, designers and artists to write realistic engine tasks, review tasks written by others, and occasionally build the reference solution. This is part-time contract work, paid per task, done on your own machine in a licensed UE 5.8.
What the work looks like
- Author tasks. Take a short brief for a project area, write the task the way you would hand it to a mid-level colleague, list the assets involved, and write the acceptance checks a tester could verify without opinion. One task is a working day of developer effort.
- Review tasks. Open the project, read the task, and score each part on whether it is realistic and whether the checks test the right thing. You cite what you looked at for every score.
- Build reference solutions. For some tasks, implement it end to end, deliver the changed files, and record each step and how you verified every check.
- Technical artist. Material editor and instances, Niagara, hooking effects into gameplay cues, performance budgets. You can tell when a visual requirement can be checked objectively and when it cannot.
- Level designer. Greybox to a brief, spawn and cover placement, nav mesh, encounter scripting in Blueprint. Multiplayer map experience is a plus.
Requirements
- Mid-level or senior. At least one shipped UE5 title or several years on a UE5 project in your role.
- Can open a project in 5.8, rebuild it, and work in both C++ and Blueprint.
- Writes clearly. Your tasks and reviews go to other developers, so precision matters more than polish.
- A Windows machine capable of running the editor.
