Experience Level: Intermediate
PeoplePerHour tells me that you are currently busy with another project. That is not a problem for me because I'm in the initial stages of seeking interest and support for a video game idea. Your experience in video gaming is helpful to me, and I'm willing to wait to fit into your work schedule. On a separate PHP project, I have worked well with several PeoplePerHour programmers.
Here is a description of my new video game idea: Snowy DISASTER !
This video game is proposed to demonstrate the consequences of reckless behavior on ski/ snowboard slopes.
Players would control the screen movement of a skier or boarder on a moderate pitch ski run with many variable factors. Such factors are the random movement of other skiers/ boarders on that ski run, iciness and ruts in the snow, natural obstacles like trees, rocks, plus many other variables. People of all ages in colorful or dark outfits move on the screen in many speeds and patterns on the slope.
Each player has a major objective to avoid near or actual collision with others on the snowy slope. Each is awarded points for wise decisions on one's speed, lack of closeness to other people or obstacles, his predictable pattern on the slope, and a reasonable time to complete a run. Lists of high scoring performers on Snowy Disaster would be published on social media.
It is anticipated that this video game be offered at low or no cost by major ski park operators like Vail Corp. It would be part of a larger slope safety program, such as signs suggesting "Slower traffic on the Right." Like AAA programs to train safer auto drivers, this video game proposal would be evaluated against actual safety results at various ski mountain operations.
This game was thought of 3/19/2019, shortly after the author's Heavenly resort chair lift ride with an East SF Bay mother and two of her daughters. She related that her youngest, a four year old daughter was hit the previous day at the Heavenly Ski area by a large snowboarder. That collision broke a bone in the girl's wrist /arm area. Because her nearby father was preoccupied with his daughter's pain, he did not get the name or identity of the snowboarder. The mother said that her family would have to bear the cost of the injury, as they have a large deductible in their family medical coverage.

I would like that or a similar video to be the background of my proposed video game. Imposed on that background would be randomly generated art figures of other skiers and natural objects that could cause an accident.
At present, I am looking for a rough estimate of the cost to develop the Snowy Disaster video game. That estimate would be useful in my conversations with the Vail Resorts Management Company and other ski operators.
Here is one reaction to my video game idea:
"Van, brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
This would appeal to people of all ages.
Kids would love having to dodge other skiers and snowboarders, and the inevitable collisions would appeal to their short attention spans. They would love the action of having to dodge ruts, moguls, ice, trees, rocks and other snowboarders.
All the while, they are subconsciously absorbing what they need to do to stay safe on the slopes.
The tie-ins and sponsorship opportunities are endless, and the name is fabulous;
SNOWY DISASTER. I love it.
And, yes, there are certainly multiple ways to tie in SQ.
Why has none thought of this before??
It seems so obvious now that you've brought it up. Brilliant.
I love the way your mind operates!"
Nilesh, perhaps you too might welcome this new game idea and enjoy working on it sometime in the future. Do send me your thoughts and cost/ time estimates.
Thanks so much,
Van Sloan
