Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are seeking a skilled professional to assist with the colourisation of LiDAR point clouds. Our dataset consists of a series of LiDAR scans captured from a moving vehicle at 8-meter intervals. Each scan is accompanied by panoramic images captured using a LadyBug5+ camera. The objective of this project is to accurately colourise the LiDAR data using the associated panoramic images.
Project Details
1. Data Description:
- LiDAR Scans: Captured at 8-meter intervals from a moving vehicle.
- Panoramic Images: Captured simultaneously with LiDAR scans using a LadyBug5+ camera.
2. Scope of Work:
- Integration of LiDAR and Image Data: Efficiently align the LiDAR scans with the corresponding panoramic images.
- Colourisation: Apply the colours from the panoramic images to the corresponding points in the LiDAR point clouds.
- Accuracy and Quality: Ensure high accuracy in the colour mapping to maintain the integrity and quality of the visual representation.
3. Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in handling LiDAR data and panoramic imagery, with experience in data alignment and colourisation techniques.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with relevant software tools and programming languages for processing LiDAR and image data (e.g., MATLAB, Python, CloudCompare, etc.).
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accurate and visually appealing results.
- Project Timeline: We predict the work involved in this project to take no more more than two hours and are looking to have this completed by 28/06/24. Please do not respond to this project if you are unable to complete the work in this time.
4. Deliverables:
- Colourised Point Clouds: Fully colourised LiDAR point clouds in a commonly used format (e.g., PLY, LAS).
- Documentation: Detailed documentation of the process, including any scripts or code used for the colourisation.
5. Budget:
- $25 per hour, max 2 hours
6. Additional Information:
- Sample data can be provided upon request for evaluation and initial assessment.
- Continuous communication and updates throughout the project are expected to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- EULA to be signed ahead of starting the project. This will be sent via adobe sign for signing.
Submission:
Interested professionals or teams are requested to submit their proposals including:
- Relevant experience and previous projects.
- Detailed methodology for colourising LiDAR point clouds.
- Estimated timeline and cost breakdown.
- Any additional information or suggestions to enhance the project outcome.
We look forward to collaborating with a talented professional or team to achieve high-quality colourised LiDAR point clouds.
Thank you.
