Technical architect

I run a price comparison site with a difference - for every purchase made via our site, we invest in solar energy. By doing everyday online shopping, people can therefore help create a more sustainable future.

We launched in early July, and the site is constantly expanding and improving. We have plans to roll out in other markets in the new year and need to get some technical expertise on board to help with this rollout program. We're very much in startup mode - everyone rolls up their sleeves and does what needs to be done. In this case, we need someone who is experienced and capable of leading the platform architecture so that we can scale up in size and get the best performance. Skills in managing large technical platforms using Amazon WS and knowledge of .NET, CDNs, load balancing, caching, APIs, managing large data structures and query optimization, localization & translations would all be very useful. At the same time, getting stuck right into the code and fixing bugs or developing new features may well also be part of the average day's work.

This initial contract would cover a small consultancy to assess our current structure and recommend how we can improve on where we are now, with a view to multiple country scalability in the near future.
