We are a little stuck with developing a unique system to order school lunches per child per day of the week for a Lunch delivery company.
Ideally this needs to be a customization of virtuemart for the Joomla CMS but willing to consider other options.
First they must create an account before they can order.
We need the parent to register with the following details:
First name, Surname, Email, Cell number, Child\'s School (drop down with school\'s names listed), Child\'s names (option to load 4 child\'s names), Child\'s grade, Child\'s Class (Teacher\'s name), password, confirm password.
Then they can order their child\'s lunches from our menu for the coming week. They can order upto 2 weeks in advance. (we have four menu categories - Sarnies & Wraps, A bit like take out, Sneakily good snacks and Drinks)
So far so good, this is the important bit!!
They need to see their final order by child and by day. This is the easiest way to make sure they haven\'t missed anything. We want it to work like:
First select the child (take list from sign up), then the day of the week (in the format - Mon 24th jan, 2011) and then the items they want for each day of that week. They can then proceed to the chekout where they can view what they have ordered by child and by day for that week before confirming.
This is how a mother would plan a lunchbox each day each day (main item, snacks, drinks,) then move to the next day.
So parents will need to order by day and in a weekly cycle. They would need to fill out a weekly order before checking out. The system needs to allow them to skip days if their children are missing school for some reason. Also, a minimum order amount per day is applicable and a daily delivery charge needs to be added at checkout.
Convienience is the key here!
Simple ehh! If you can help, please get in touch!
