Description
Experience Level: Entry
I have a sophisticated OsCommerce shopping cart that needs
a small fix. And probably needs to be updated to a newer version where I can actually set different shipping rates for individual products, too. The current version doesn't allow individual shipping rates. Current Issue: When customer subscribes, the system generates a temporary password and discount code. The system also creates a profile inside, but when the same customer tries to signup to order product with their email address and the temp password, an error message appears that reads "this email already exists" and won't let customer signup. If a new email address is used to sign up it is OK, not with the same email address that was used to subscribe. If customer happens to signup to order product first, then subscribes, no issue, except inside the automatic response email a new generated password is there, which throws the customer off thinking they have to use that temp password to log in, so fixing that would help, too. What Needs to happen: If Customer subscribes first, the profile that is generated inside shopping cart is available for login when signing in to order product using their subscription email and the temp password. And some other minor text edits throughout. Maybe updating the OsCommerce version will fix the issue, but at the same time cannot lose any dedicated programming inside OsCommerce that is already in place that automates the password, discount code generation.
Someone already VERY experienced with all programming functions of OsCommerce v2.2 and above. Also, must know how to integrate newer version of OsCommerce and fix the main issue above at the very least without disturbing ANY current version programming. I have worked with very experienced OsCommerce programmers before, so I know exactly how long it would take someone with REAL experience to do this fix.
