Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General information for the website: The website sells cosmetic equipment
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Num. of web pages/modules: 1
Description of every page/module: When adding a product to the shopping cart we need an option that allows users to select more than one colour for the product
Description of requirements/features: The website sells a product that comes with a selection of nail varnishes in different colours. We need an option that allows users to easily select from a range of colours before adding to the cart.
When selecting the product, users can choose 4, 6 or 8 colours from a selection of 30. We need an option that detects when they have reached their limit for colours and then prompts users to choose the next range if they want more colours. Each range will be added to the site as an individual product so there needs to be a link between products so we can relate them together.
E.g.
Product 1 - 4 colours
Product 2 - 6 colours
Product 3 - 8 colours
When the user views product 1 they can choose 4 colours from the selection (shown in the image by the pink boxes - this will obviously change to display the range of colours on the live site). If they choose a fifth colour then the site should prompt them to select the next product in the range (i.e. product 2).
When the user hovers over the colour square, display a pop-up as shown in the image. This will give the user an idea of what they will receive for the colour chosen.
On checkout, the site should record the selected colours with the order and pass the details to the user and to the admin so they can fulfil the order.
