Magento Help Required

Description of requirements/features: Hi !

I have three categories in the Magento besides Default Category. These are two categories man and woman as of now. But I will have more categories depending on their age groups. For each of the Categories, there will sub-Categories, the depth is unknown but won't be more than 4, i believe.

I want a step by step guide for me, which I can follow and create a module for my website. The functionality of this module includes (only for user with appropriate permission)

1. Show each of the created category as square (Tile) on the Home Page [ Man & Woman ]
2. Show each sub - category as tiles under the Parent Category Page [ Man (Parent ) > T-shirts (Sub Category ) , Jeans, Suits, Shirts etc.
URL --- root / man /
4. Show each sub - category as tiles under the Parent Sub- Category Page [ Jeans > Skinny , Loose, Slim, Regular .. etc.

URL --- root / man / Jeans /

Now say user selects the following Product ==> Regular - Blue - Rough - 38 . He should be redirected to a Page

URL --- root / man / Jeans / Regular-Blue-Rough-38

I have it developed by a good man, Please see attached. In addition to this, the developer created a sub theme of rwd, which I am not very pleased with. I have created my independent theme with apparelflower as Package and fruits as the theme and using bootstrap. I know PHP , but it is taking time to understand file structure and etc...
