Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
Hi,
I am looking for an experienced developer who can help me fix a compatibility issue I am having on my website, between MemberPress and the theme I am using.
This is what happening:
My website uses MemberPress to manage subscriptions. Stripe, PayPal and bank transfer are the payment options.
I am using a child theme of the Hello Elementor theme. I use this theme, which a couple of developers helped me to develop, for the specific needs of my website (and the styling of course).
Everything was going well until a few days ago when I noticed that Stripe is not working anymore as a payment option. I had tested it thoroughly before and in fact, I have several recurring subscriptions already. Now however, new users who choose Stripe as their payment option are simply taken to the welcome page without actually going through the Stripe checkout form.
In other words, if somebody wants to become a member and pay with their card, the payment is not taken, the transaction in MemberPress is marked as pending, and the user does not have access to the rest of the site.
You can replicate this issue on the staging site. (In the staging site, all the plugins except MemberPress have been disabled. That is why it looks so bare and simple).
Fill out the form on this page and select Tarjeta ("card" in Spanish) as the payment method:
https://staging.maspresente.com/inscribete-acceso-continuo/
You will be automatically redirected to the Welcome page, without going through Stripe checkout.
If you select PayPal, you will see that it redirects you to PayPal to enter your account details, so that is working well.
I got in touch with the developers at MemberPress and with their help, I was able to determine that there is a conflict between MemberPress and the theme I am using.
By switching the theme to the Twenty Twenty-One theme (in the staging site), completing the form gets you to the stripe checkout page.
I am looking for a developer who can check the child theme and fix whatever is preventing MemberPress to get to the stripe checkout page. (Evidently, I don't want to lose the rest of the customizations that were made on the child theme, otherwise the functionality we had already developed will be lost).
This is an urgent issue for me, because people are not able to sign up as members using Stripe. So I am looking for a developer who can look into this and help me fix it immediately.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Hector
