Write a script(s) to add a new language to a Postgres database

We have a legacy web application using Postgres as the database which is currently available in three languages - English and two other European languages. A need has arisen now to add a third foreign language to the application and, rather than just add a single new language, we would like to have script, or a number of scripts, developed which would add new languages automatically.

More specifically:

1. Identify which tables require an additional language field, there are approx. 50-60 tables which will require a new field. For example, one of the tables is called job_types which contain fields job_type_en plus fields for the additional languages

2. Export English strings from all language tables above

3. Generate a script(s) to add the relevant language field to all language tables above

4. Generate a script(s) to import all the translated strings of the new language.
