Review Database and understand issue

We are seeking a skilled database professional to analyze our organization's backend infrastructure and diagnose recent performance issues. The goal of this project is to audit our SQL servers and identify inefficiencies, duplication of data, or design flaws that may be degrading response times or reducing capacity. The consultant should have extensive experience optimizing complex relational databases under heavy workloads.

After gaining access to our development and staging environments, the consultant will perform a comprehensive review of all database schemas, stored procedures, indexes, queries and integration points. Analytic tools may be used to gather metrics on resource consumption and SQL execution plans. Interviews with key technical staff may provide historical context and highlight recent changes preceding the downturn. Once a root cause or causes are determined, a written report will be submitted summarizing findings and recommending specific remedies.

Potential solutions could involve remodeling tables, normalizing data, improving query syntax, upgrading hardware, adding caches, partitioning databases, or other backend enhancements. The goal is to produce options for restoring database performance to desired service levels as cost effectively as possible.
