Oracle DBA for a small job fixing scheduler

Hi,

I have a hosted Oracle 11G XE server which is failing to run external (OS) jobs via dbms_scheduler. It complains about the username/password, although they are correct.
I think that it's a setup or configuration problem. I've investigated jssu and libpam but it really needs a DBA rather than a developer.
If interested I can give many more details. I'm based in Southampton, but it's possible to work remotely.
I'll be away from 1st to 11th April but will make a decision as soon as I'm back.
