Somehow I have SQL Server 2005 on my laptop which I uninstalled, but it came back on (when I reinstalled Visual Studio?). It gives me problems connecting my database in SQL Server 2008 to Visual Studio. I also thought I’d try to just make the connection in Visual Studio to my database by clicking on Tools/Connect to Database/MS SQL Server Database File/Continue/Browse. But I found my database was actually saved in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA rather than where it was supposed to be, in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA. So I copied the database into the file folder I thought it was supposed to be in & tried to make the connection again. Got error mess. “Connection doesn’t work.” Also, as I was learning C#, I tried to use the “Clear” method in Visual Studio with #C, but it wouldn’t show up as an option in intellisense, like my course material said it should. And finally, I tried to view my diagrams in MS SQL Server Mgm. Studio & got the 2nd attached error mess.
