Description
I am looking for a skilled freelancer to design an Excel spreadsheet template for carbon emissions reporting based on the GHG Protocol (Scope 1, 2, and 3).
The spreadsheet should:
• Ready-to-use template where I can input my own emission factors and data
• Include all relevant emissions categories and calculation fields (Scope 1, 2, and 3)
• Have automatic calculations for totals, category summaries, and overall emissions
• Include conditional formatting or basic checks to ensure inputs are consistent
• Be well-organised and easy to update for future reporting
• Optional: basic dashboard or charts that update automatically when data is entered
I will provide a Word document with additional structural requirements and layout ideas, but the freelancer does not need to input actual data or emission factors.
Requirements for applicants:
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, structured tables, and pivot tables if needed
• Knowledge of GHG Protocol reporting structure (so calculations align with Scope 1–3 requirements)
• Ability to create a user-friendly, professional template

Hi Alana, is this job still open and are you still looking forward to accept any new proposals?

When does this need to be completed by Alana?

Hi Alana
I just have a few quick questions:
• Should the spreadsheet include space for custom notes or assumptions per category?
• Do you prefer the layout to be compact, or more spaced out for readability?
Thanks. -

Hello,
To make sure the template fits seamlessly into your workflow, would you like the Scope 1–3 category structure and calculation logic to follow a fixed GHG Protocol-aligned framework (e.g. locked category lists with controlled inputs), or would you prefer a more flexible setup where categories, sites, and activities can be added dynamically as your client base grows?
Regards, -

can you please tell me whether you want the Excel template aligned strictly to GHG Protocol scopes (1, 2, 3) with category-level summaries for consultant reporting?
