Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
I am looking for a routine that can generate a sql INSERT statement that allows to take rows from a generic table from one database (originDB) and insert it in an other (destinationDB). FYI: no need to suggest tools in the SQL Server backend that can do datadumps ... I am aware they exist.
To help I already have a routine that allows me to generate a CREATE Table sql statement. It can be used a starting point to more easily obtain what I am looking to achieve.
Meaning, if I set my variable @table_name = 'dbo.vehicles'
and run the routine I get some thing of the form:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[vehicles]
(
[RECORD_NUMBER] INT NOT NULL IDENTITY(1,1)
, [ARCHIVE_STATUS] NVARCHAR(1) COLLATE Latin1_General_CI_AS NULL
, [BRAND] NVARCHAR(50) COLLATE Latin1_General_CI_AS NULL
....
etc
....
)
Ideally I am interested in somebody who do this right away. Make sure the first word of your reply is SQLRIGHTAWAY.
My estimate is that this should take around an hour (or less)

Greetings. Do you want to copy the entire table including its data or just the structure?
