Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the business: Compare the profiles of students who complete evaluations for courses against a sample student population enrolled
Industry: Education
Analysis tool: Excel
Description of analysis: I have attached a large spreadsheet containing student data. The last two columns show "Completed Evaluations" and "Enrolled". The 1 in the "Completed Evaluations" column means "YES" - the student did complete an evaluation for that course for that specific term in a specific year. 0 means "NO" - the student did not complete the evaluation. The Enrolled column is always equal to one because the total count represents the count of the sample student population.
The spreadsheet has other variables in there - student gender, student citizenship, home state, cumulative GPA, instructor status (full time vs. adjunct), grades etc. What I am most interested in is an analysis comparing the grades between the students who completed the course evaluations versus the entire sample population.
However, I would like the expert chosen to see if there are other interesting relationships or trends that can be explored.
The deliverable expected is a summary report with charts and explanations on the trends, correlations or relationships available. Please also include some statistical techniques like linear regression, confidence intervals, margins of error, std. deviations where applicable.
Design and target audience: Use of graphs and statistics
Extra notes: I had to save the file in a binary file because of its large size. Please let me know if you cannot view it.
