Hello,
I need someone to type out the “Data Dictionary” for my survey data in the next 24 hours. Due: noon GMT on Jan 19.
This work should be done by someone who knows what a dataset’s data dictionary normally consists of: e.g. variables, their values, the variable names and the value names.
The successful worker will extend my New Data Dictionary table template in excel. To fill out the table, you will need to draw from information currently contained in two other excel tabs.
[Note: populating the table must be done by hand, cutting, pasting, then checking for your errors.]
The enclosed excel file has three tabs:
(1) Tab: New Data Dictionary – this tab contains the template I want you to use. I populated the table with three examples of how I want variables and their names and values to appear in New Data Dictionary.
(2) Tab: Q Old and New – this tab contains half of the info required to fill the New Data Dictionary template.
(3) Tab: Q Names Q Values Value Names – this tab contains the other half of the info required to fill the New Data Dictionary template.
You will need to
(1) format exactly as I have the examples, with lines, justified as I have already done in the template etc.
(2) check your work for errors before you send it back to me
(3) check your work again for errors before you send it back to me
(4) check your work one last time for errors before you send it back to me, preferably by printing it out and hand-checking it
IN ORDER TO BE HIRED FOR THIS JOB YOU WILL NEED TO SEND BACK TO ME MY TEMPLATE WITH ONE EXAMPLE YOU HAVE DONE CORRECTLY. This is simply to ensure I select the right person – e.g. to ensure I will not have to hand hold much ;)
If you are successful, this will be the start of a long and prosperous relationship! I have more work!
Thank you!
Sarah
